Meanjin/Brisbane-based alternative pop duo JUNO have just revealed their elegant new single 'come thru' – produced by Taka Perry (Sycco, A.GIRL, CODY JON) and band member Sam Woods.
Brimming with funky percussion, melodious bass, and convivial synths, 'come thru' efficiently flows with charisma and magnetism. Guided by the amiable vocals of Kahlia Ferguson, the song is a colourfully decorated soundscape, enriched by its thriving hook and riddled with sparkling pop elements. Therapeutically written and skilfully produced, JUNO's latest cut sees them returning to the indie spotlight in stylistic fashion.
JUNO talk about the meaning behind 'come thru':
"'come thru' is about wanting to give your all to a relationship, but only if the other person is willing to do the same. I've had some awful past relationships where I constantly felt like I was giving everything to people who didn't give the same in return. Before entering my current relationship, I was really clear that if I'm going to commit to this, I need them to show up and support me and give as much I will. This song is about wanting a relationship to be a two-way street."
To celebrate the release, JUNO will be hitting Australia's East Coast for a run of headline shows, before stopping over in Eora/Sydney as main support for Pacific Avenue at The Lady Hampshire. In the live arena, they sold out their debut headline show – capping Meanjin/Brisbane's Black Bear Lodge at 250 tickets – and have since shared the stage with Peking Duk, The Delta Riggs, Loose Bricks and Majak Door. The group also made an appearance at Super Fun Day, performing alongside FIDLAR (USA), Pale Waves (UK), Beach Bunny (USA), Dune Rats and Ruby Fields.
